The cut in golf: who gets paid at every tournament
We hold 109,699 results across 1,305 editions of 66 tournaments. 65,169 of them made the cut and were paid off the finishing ladder, and 41,916 missed it. The 3M Open pays the smallest share of the players we hold, 49%.
Where the cut is hardest
Share of the players we hold that the ladder paid, the 20 lowest
A full-field tour event pays roughly half the players we hold. An invitational with a small field and no cut pays nearly all of them, which is why the order runs from the regular stops at the top to the limited fields at the bottom of the table below.

Frequently asked questions
What share of golfers make the cut?
Across the 109,699 results we hold at 66 tournaments, 59% made the cut and were paid off the finishing ladder and 38% missed it. The rest withdrew, were disqualified or finished without a cheque.
Which golf tournament has the hardest cut?
The 3M Open, where the ladder has paid 49% of the players we hold across 8 editions. At the other end, the CIMB Classic paid 99%, because a small invitational field has little or no cut to make.
Who has missed the most cuts?
Brian Gay, 262 missed cuts in 645 starts at the tournaments we hold, against 373 made.
Who makes the cut most reliably?
Among players with at least 100 starts here, Xander Schauffele: 190 cuts made in 216 starts, 88%.
Do players who miss the cut get paid?
Not from the finishing ladder, which is the money these pages count. The ladder pays the players who make the cut, from the winner down, and a player whose week ends at the cut is not on it.
