23,863 players across 80 nations, earning a combined $259,366,304 a week. Each page ranks the highest paid players from that country and picks the best-paid XI their salaries can field: 75 of the 80 can field a full 4-3-3.

These are club salaries, not national-team squads. A nation appears here once we hold a weekly salary for at least 40% of the players who give it, and for at least 20 of them: below that the figures describe the leagues we happen to hold salaries for rather than the country, so the page would mislead more than it told you.
