Fencing prize money
136 fencers have been paid £1,533,835 across 2 championships from 2025 to 2026. Martina Favaretto has won the most, £49,812. The FIE first paid prize money at the World Championships in Tbilisi in 2025, and paid the same again in Hong Kong in 2026: $1,020,000 across six individual and six team titles, the same for women as for men. An individual champion takes $40,000, the runner-up $20,000 and each beaten semi-finalist $10,000. A team title is worth $50,000, split between the four fencers on the team, so each takes $12,500, and silver and bronze pay $6,250 and $3,750 a fencer. Nobody outside the medals is paid. Martina Favaretto has taken $66,250 over the two championships, more than any other fencer.
