Women's 1000 m prize money

The Diamond League has paid $60,000 in the women's 1000 m, to fifteen athletes across two runnings of it, all in 2025. Two athletes share the biggest total in the event, $10,000 each.

The series pays by finishing place and by nothing else, so a win here is worth what a win in any other discipline is worth: $10,000 at a 2025 series meeting, eight places paid, and nothing for ninth. It has never been on the programme for the series final, so the final ladder has never applied to it.

Two athletes are level at the top of the money list, $10,000 apiece, because the series pays by finishing place and every one of these meetings paid the same ladder. One of the fifteen athletes paid in this discipline was paid in it more than once.

One column per ladder, and none of them is specific to this discipline: the women's 1000 m is paid on the same card as the 100 m and the shot put at the same meeting. There is no appearance money in any of it, nothing for a record, and nothing at all for ninth place. It has never been picked as a Diamond+ discipline, so it has always paid the standard ladder.

Frequently asked questions

How much prize money does the Diamond League pay in the women's 1000 m?

$60,000 across two runnings of it, to fifteen athletes from nine countries. That is 0.1% of everything the series has paid, and the 40th biggest of the 41 disciplines on this site.

What does a win in the women's 1000 m pay?

$10,000. It is the same figure in every discipline on a programme, so a win here pays exactly what a win in the 100 m pays.

Who has earned the most in the women's 1000 m?

Two athletes are level at the top on $10,000 each. One of the fifteen athletes the discipline has paid was paid in it more than once.

Who has won the most Diamond League women's 1000 m titles?

Two different athletes have won a Diamond League women's 1000 m across the two runnings on this site, and nobody has won it more than once.

How often does the Diamond League run the women's 1000 m?

Twice across one season, all of them in 2025, on the programmes of two different meetings. The series rotates its programme, so no discipline is on every card.

How far down the field does the women's 1000 m pay?

Eight places, and ninth pays nothing however good the mark was. sixteen payments have gone to fifteen athletes in this discipline, and five other finishes in the same result tables were worth nothing at all.
