Jamaica, in 39.62 (Ackeem Blake, Tina Clayton, Kadrian Goldson, Tia Clayton), for $40,000 to the federation. Eight teams ran the final in Gaborone. Guangzhou was the first time the event had ever been run, and it went on a lower ladder than the rest of the programme: $28,000 to the winners against $40,000, and $64,000 for the event against the $93,000 every other event carried. Gaborone put it on the standard card, so it now pays exactly what the five other events pay.
