Men's and women's tennis prize money
Of the nine events we hold that pay a men's and a women's draw out of one announcement, six pay the two the same: the four majors, Indian Wells and Miami, where one ladder prices both draws round by round. Canada and Cincinnati pay the women out of a fund 21 per cent smaller than the men's. Rome pays its women's champion €1,055,285 and its men's €1,007,165, the bigger first prize out of the smaller fund.
A player is paid once, for the round they went out in, at every event on this page except the two finals, where each match won is added to the last. The US Open has paid its men and women the same since 1973, and Wimbledon, the last of the four majors to do so, since 2007.

At six of the thirteen the two events sit at the same tier, and the women's fund is the smaller at every one of them, from 68 per cent of the men's at Washington to 34 per cent at 's-Hertogenbosch. The six towns where the women play for more, Beijing, Brisbane, Adelaide, Doha, Stuttgart and Dubai, all stage the women's event a tier above the men's.

A bar past 100 per cent is a town where the women play for more. The tier sets that before anything else: the same week can be a WTA 1000 for the women and an ATP 500 for the men, or the other way round.
