US Open prize money
The US Open is the richest fortnight in tennis: $108,000,000 in 2026, a fifth more than the year before. The singles champions take $5,500,000 each, and a first-round loser leaves with $140,000.
A player is paid once, for the round they went out in. The figure is the whole of it rather than a step on the way to it, so somebody who lost in the last eight took $780,000 and not that plus every round beneath it. Add the eight figures up as a ladder and the champion alone would be on $11,630,000, against the $5,500,000 the United States Tennis Association actually pays.
