DARTS · 2015 TO 2026

World Matchplay prize money

The PDC has paid £8.2m across the twelve editions of the World Matchplay we hold, from 2015 to 2026. The 2026 pot was £1,000,000 between 32 players, nine days at the Winter Gardens in Blackpool, played in legs rather than sets, and Luke Littler took £225,000 of it.

A darts player is paid once, for where the run ended, so every pound of a pot lands on exactly one player and the twelve pots below add up to the £8,200,000 the field has shared. Michael van Gerwen has taken more out of the World Matchplay than anyone else: £652,000 from twelve appearances. Eleven of the twelve were played at Winter Gardens, Blackpool.

The pot, season by season

season running total

The prize fund has gone from £450,000 in 2015 to £1,000,000 in 2026, which is £550,000 more and 122% up. Winning it has moved with it, from £100,000 to £225,000, and the champion's share of the pot has gone from 22% to 23%. The dimmer column behind each season is the running total, which reaches £8,200,000.

What each finishing place pays

The six bands at the 2026 World Matchplay

Winter Gardens, Blackpool
Winner £225,000 One player, beat Gerwyn Price in the final
Runner-up £125,000 One player, lost the final to Luke Littler
Semi-finalists £65,000 Two players, lost in the semi-finals
Quarter-finalists £35,000 Four players, lost in the quarter-finals
Last 16 £22,500 Eight players, lost in the round of 16
Last 32 £12,500 Sixteen players, lost the first match

Nothing here stacks. A player who lost in the semi-finals collected £65,000 and not that plus every band beneath it, which is why the six bands come to £1,000,000 rather than to the £485,000 a ladder reading would put on the champion alone. The 2026 rate card has the players in each band and what the band paid out.
